Walk from the door is definitely an option here, indeed one of the Lake District's higher mountains, Skiddaw, can be accessed via the garden.

I think we have to mention the bathrooms first. The Master bedroom not only has an en-suite but a free-standing roll topped bath tub within the bedroom itself. The family bathroom boasts a jacuzzi and a double walk-in shower cubicle. Set in an elevated position on the edge of Keswick, Cloud End has spectacular views of the surrounding fells and over to Bassenthwaite Lake from the picture window and Lakeland stone roof patio. 

The modern build is beautified by the incorporation of local stone and allows for good sized room throughout. 

The elevated position of Cloud End does mean that a walk to Keswick will be downhill there and uphill back but previous guests have agreed that the views are worth it!

A quaint charm to this former barn, which has been converted in an up-side down manner, retaining original features and with a lovely mature garden. The Pheasant Inn is very handy to unwind and it is just a short level walk to the centre of Keswick.

These two properties on a working beef and sheep farm, have been beautifully renovated. They share a small lawned garden and both have the envious views of Skiddaw and within easy access of Keswick.  Tarn Riggings is the cottage to the left in the photograph above and Mary Rook to the right.

There is a glimpse of Derwent Water...but you may well be quizzing yourself on which fell is which.  Walla Yat is a book which definitely should not be judged by its cover. 

Recent renovations have completely changed the interior of Walla Yat which now comprises two kingsize bedrooms and one bunk bedroom.  The beautiful range cooker in the kitchen and and wood-burning stove in the lounge area of the open-plan ground floor are just a few of the luxuries the owners have thought of.

Derwentwater View is a first-floor apartment, formerly a hotel but now nine apartments and has stunning views, which would suit three couples as well as a family.  Two of the bedrooms have the options to request the bedrooms as twin rather than Zip-locked super kingsize. The property is in the village of Portinscale, ideal for walks from the door and just a short walk to the lake.

Lovely bright open-plan ground floor with a wood-burning stove all add to the charm of Skelmorlie Cottage.  A great base for walks from the door, whether that is to the lake shore to take the Keswick launch or hire a canoe or the nearby market town of Keswick; or maybe you'll stretch your legs a little more and walk the pretty nearby Cat Bells.   

Owners note : All of the accommodation is on the ground floor, however there are 8 steps from the parking bay to the courtyard of Skelmorlie Cottage.
