Owners note:
Maple Bank has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200
This property is on the same grounds as the owners property and Guest House
In the pretty village of Braithwaite and three pubs within walking distance, Maple Bank certainly does have a lot to offer. We love the bi-fold doors from the lounge-diner leading to the patio and garden behind. Other features include an integrated hob in the island kitchen unit and a TV in each bedroom.
Further details of Maple Bank along with availability can be found here.
Who are we to argue with The Telegraph? They've mentioned Newlands Beck Cottage in their article of Britain's more remote cottages...though with an Award Winning Pub just a ten minute walk away, you don't need to get into too much of a panic! You can read their article here. Personally, we think it could have equally won a place on a page for 'that romantic place for four.'..or then again maybe just keep for two?
We love the fabulous full wall map, perfect for planning your next walk and of course it goes without saying that we rather like the free-standing bath in the master bedroom too!
There are walks literally from your front door and as the Owners own half of the beck its also fine to fish too, just check that you have the appropriate licence.
The finer details, more photographs and availability of Newlands Beck can be found here.
Catbells has been awarded the Visit England Gold Award and The Visit England 4 Star Award too. Braithwaite is perhaps better known for the famous Whinlatter Pass which is a definite challenge for cyclists and also a great base for Walkers too. In fact Catbells itself is a wonderful walk, short but steep (!) off the western shore of Derwent Water.
Previous guests have loved that the property is in walking distance to pubs which serve good food. In fact why not read their reviews, see more photos and read the finer details and check for availability just here.
Pretty in Pink! This lovely traditional Lakeland cottage is in the quieter region of Cumbria, the Borrowdale Valley area and is as unique as you can probably get in terms of decoration!
Previous guests have said that their kids loved the bath-bombs and the pink bath. The SMEG kitchen furniture and the AGA are indicators that the owners of Shepherd's Cottage have tried to provide everything for you to have a fabulous stay in beautiful rural Cumbria.
Do read the previous guests comments and see more wonderful (pink) photographs and of course read the finer print and check for availability here.
If you are looking for something a little more off the beaten track, something which looks so very Cumbrian then Woodside which is approximately 1.5 miles from Braithwaite might be just the ticket. The accommodation is all ground-floor but please note (for mobility purposes) that the shower is over the bath.
Further details of Woodside, including more photographs and availability, can be found here.
