    Aptly named due to the fabulous topiary peacock which can be seen in the photograph to the left of the collage above. For larger parties, there is also the opportunity to book The Hayloft which is a one bedroomed studio in grounds adjacent to Peacock Cottage.

    This studio is in the grounds adjacent to Peacock Cottage (details above) allowing opportunity for extended families or friends to holiday together but with separate accommodation.

    The studio has been finished to a very high standard and would also provide very affordable self-catering accommodation for 2. The Hayloft is just a 100 yards from The Outgate Inn, a traditional lakeland pub serving bar snacks. There is parking for one car, note: no pets are allowed.

    Here at Discover Cumbria we try to bring you the best of the cottages that we find in Cumbria. We just had to include Fairy Glen Cottage with its wonderful garden just perfect for relaxing and dreaming. Surrounded by the wonderful Grizedale forest this cottage is quite the rural retreat and in a a lovely location to explore if you can tear yourself away from looking for fairies! The small village of Satterthwaite is just a couple of miles away, or four miles to the popular larger village of Hawkshead bursting with great pubs cafes and specialty shops.
