The half door of the Shepherd Hut opens to a small verandah perfect for perching on with a beer or even a glass of champagne, whilst watching the stars; or enjoying that early morning mug of tea.

A ten minute walk through the fields will bring you to the Butcher's Arms a community village pub serving locally sourced food.

Scales Plantation is a family run Beef and Sheep working farm situated in approx 720 acres of rural beauty. Tab and Rob Wilson are actively committed to safeguarding the local environment for future generations to enjoy and are involved in a number of environmental schemes.

The huts sleep 3 and are located on the edge of the stunning Great Langdale National Trust camping site : here you can make use of the hot showers and even re-charge your mobile phone. Groceries and wood can be purchased at the site shop and there is also a drying room, if you've been caught out in the rain.
