    Dramatic open beams from Cumbrian shipwrecks add to the rustic charm of Birkerthwaite Cottage. The house is topsy-turvy with the ground floor having two of the bedrooms and a separate toilet. The open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area command the first floor with a wooden balcony and steps to the garden.     Birkerthwaite Stable is a detached former stable with a wood-burning stove and great rustic charm. The beams really add character and date back to a Cumbrian shipwreck. The accommodation is all on the ground floor however there is a step to the bedroom and the shower is via an attachment in the bathroom.
